Dec. 2, 2013, Kamloops, B.C. – A hunter who was reported missing in B.C.'s Interior is cold but otherwise OK after spending a night alone in a makeshift camp in wilderness.

A search was launched after 37-year-old man failed to meet up with his hunting companions in an area west of Kamloops on Saturday.

Half a dozen snowmobles and an ATV were involved in the search, near Tunkwa Lake.

RCMP Sgt. Dave Prentice says search-and-rescue crews tracked down the man this early Sunday morning, and he was in good shape and didn't require medical attention.

Prentice says the man shot a deer and was making his way back to his companions when he became turned around and lost.

As darkness fell, the man decided to start a fire and set up camp for the night, which Prentice says was the right move.
