Hydro pole fire knocks out power to nearly 1,000 homes

April 21, 2020, Lorette, Man. – Nearly 1,000 hydro customers between Lorette and Deacon’s Corner suddenly lost power early Monday afternoon when a hydro pole caught fire. Manitoba Hydro Spokesperson Bruce Owen says the pole ignited because of a moisture buildup in one of its insulators. Steinbach Online reports. | READ MORE
