Kaleden fire chief retires after nearly 50 years
June 12, 2017, Penticton, B.C. - After almost a half century of service to her community, Darlene Bailey is stepping down as chief of the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department in British Columbia. As chief, Bailey worked to establish effective operational procedures, creating pre-fire response plans and a robust records management system. Bailey worked for 27 years as a firefighter before moving into the lead role. Chief Bailey's last day will be June 16. The Penticton Western News reports. | READ MORE
