Kitchener area firefighters remembered

Oct. 15, 2008, Kitchener, Ont. - Capt. James Rebbeck was the life of the party. He was an avid fisherman. And he was very dedicated to his crew in the Kitchener Fire Department. As the Kitchener Waterloo Record reports, Rebbeck dedicated 35 years to firefighting before retiring in 2002. He was diagnosed with leukemia in January 2007 and died on Oct. 10 of the same year. He was 63. Doctors said he developed the cancer as a result of his work as a firefighter. READ MORE
