Man dies in hospital from severe burns after fire at Saint John tent encampment

Jan. 7, 2024, Saint John, N.B. – A 44-year-old man has died after a large fire broke out at a tent encampment in Saint John Saturday evening. On Sunday, Saint John Fire platoon chief Ed Moyer said first responders arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. after receiving a report of an outdoor fire near the Main Street overpass toward Highway 1.
