One dead after apartment fire
March 31, 2008, Sombra, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police say a 52-year-old woman is dead after a fire broke out in an apartment building south of Sarnia on Sunday.

Lambton OPP said Sunday that the fire was traced to a smoldering mattress inside one of the apartments.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found the woman unconscious inside the unit.

She was rushed to a Wallaceburg hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police have not yet released her name.
The building sustained only minor smoke damage during the fire.
