Ontario department loses one of its own

July 22, 2011, Centre Wellington, Ont. – Firefighters in Centre Wellington, Ont., were dispatched to a medical emergency early Wednesday morning to find one of their own, Capt. John Alles, a 27-year member of the department.
Details of the incident were not released, but Centre Wellington Chief Brad Patton said in a statement that Alles, 50, was well liked for his easy-going personality and his concerns for firefighter safety.
Alles leaves behind his wife, Debbie, and sons Mike and Brad.
Visitation is today from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus, and Saturday from 10-11 a.m., followed by a service at the Elora Road Christian Fellowship, 5696 Wellington Rd 7, in Elora.
