Firefighters were called to the scene just east of the downtown around 1:45 a.m.

Emergency authorities say a passerby saw the flames and pulled the victims from the home.

Gerrad Kay, a Regina Fire Department spokesman, says crews worked to resuscitate the pair but they died in hospital.

Their names have not been released.
