Police, firefighters rescue kayakers

Oct. 23, 2015, Beaverton, Ont. - Two men from Beaverton are recovering after a very cold dip in a lake east of Peterborough.

OPP and a crew of firefighters responded at about 10 a.m. after getting a report that two men were struggling in the waters of Crowe Lake.

They were rescued by a fire department marine unit and taken to a hospital in Campbellford for treatment of severe exposure.

Police say the men, aged 47 and 68, were in the water for about an hour after their kayak overturned.
