Report recommends closing five fire halls

Sept. 11, 2015, Winnipeg - The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service thinks it can find $17 million in savings by shuttering five of its stations. But the service says the $17 million will be needed to rebuild several antiquated fire halls and redeploying staff to strengthen several areas identified in a pending independent review.
