St. Catharines pays tribute to late fire chief

Aug. 18, 2015, St. Catharines, Ont. - It’s a shiny-red pumper ordered as a St. Catharines fire department addition by Mark Mehlenbacher. That truck now bears a black-and-silver plaque in tribute to the former fire chief who died of cancer on July 18, 2014. On Monday, members of his Ancaster-based family, his friends, the fire department and City paid tribute to the late 55-year-old who led the department from 2008-14.
