Trainer acquitted in drowning death of firefighter

June 5, 2012, Sarnia, Ont. - A water-ice rescue safety trainer has been acquitted of a charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in the 2010 death of a Point Edward firefighter. Justice Michael O'Dea acquitted Terry Harrison this afternoon following a two-week trial. Harrison was charged with failing as a supervisor to take reasonable precautions to protect a worker by having adequate rescuers and equipment available. The Sarnia Observer reports.

June 5, 2012, Sarnia, Ont. – A water-ice rescue safety trainer has been
acquitted of a charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in
the 2010 death of a Point Edward firefighter. Justice Michael O'Dea
