Two-alarm blaze claims Ottawa woman’s life

Fire crews responded to a call of a house fire shortly before 7 p.m.

Crews reported very heavy smoke and extreme fire conditions, and located a victim inside the home without vital signs.

Officials say the woman was believed to be the only person living in the home.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but the Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate.

The woman’s name has not been released.
