Nov. 3, 2020 –  Through its TargetSolutions brand, Vector Solutions was approved for new EMS continuing education credits for Alberta, Canada by the Alberta College of Paramedics for a total of 227 online courses and more than 780 units of credit.

This approval means all permissible self-directed EMS continuing education (CE) credits can be fulfilled from a single platform. Available through TargetSolutions’ fire department training management system, these online, video-based courses are written by subject matter experts and feature a variety of critical refresher training for BLS and ALS agencies. Topics include patient assessment, airway management, cardiac emergencies, emergency response to terrorism and more.

As a cloud-based training platform, Alberta paramedics can complete CE units at any time, from any web-enabled device with TargetSolutions. Additionally, agencies can track their member’s progress and ensure recertification deadlines are met with auto-generated reminders and comprehensive training bundles that centralize everyone’s training hours.

“We understand the importance of an EMS professional’s ability to stay up-to-date in training and routinely revisit crucial subjects,” said Alex Berry, an executive Vice President with Vector Solutions. “Our accredited continuing education is built to make refresher training accessible, convenient, and effective for each EMS agency in Canada.”

Approved EMS courses by the Alberta College of Paramedics are categorized according to preparatory airway, patient assessment, medical, trauma, operations and special considerations. Lessons feature an onscreen instructor, engaging interactions, custom video animations and study exercises to ensure retention.

“This will save countless hours of administrative work that our training division would normally have to accomplish. We no longer have to create content, get it approved and keep it updated,” said Chris Tomaras, ACP/Firefighter and Medical Training Officer for Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services. “Members will no longer have to stress about getting into approved courses, because they are available to them at any time, or meeting the year-end requirements.”
