The Yellowknife Fire Department in the Northwest Territories, under Fire Chief Darcy Hernblad, took delivery in February of a Rocky Mountain Phoenix/Rosenbauer-built tanker. Built on a Freightliner M2 112 chassis and powered by a 370-hp Detroit DD13 engine and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission, this unit is equipped with a 1,900-lip Darley HM pump, a 3,000-gallon water tank with 4-inch rear direct fill, three electric-controlled dump chutes with cameras viewed in cab, a Whelen lighting system, Whelen M9 scene lights and a FRC Evolution brow light.
