Officials probe suspicious ice cream store blaze

Aug. 24, 2016, Laval, Que. - A Laval ice cream store was destroyed in what police are calling a suspicious fire early on Tuesday morning.

At around 12:30 a.m., a Molotov cocktail was allegedly thrown into the Cremerie St-Francois on Levesque Blvd. East.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a hole in the front of the building, near where the flames had originated.

Nobody was injured in the fire but significant damage was caused to the structure, as well as an adjacent restaurant.

The arson squad of the Laval police department has been given responsibility for the investigation.
