March 17, Collingwood, Ont. – Emergency officials say their efforts may
have halted a mudslide that has threatened homes near Collingwood, Ont.,
for days.
Four
homes were placed under evacuation orders Friday after the mud moved
further down the mountain in Craigleith.
The
mudslide started next to the Alpine Private Ski Club on Wednesday
evening and pushed debris against the back of one of the homes.
Some other
homeowners on Arrow Head Crescent have moved out as a precaution.
Officials
say they'll monitor the situation this weekend and reassess
on Monday.
