Fredericton home damaged by fire

Platoon Captain Jeff Mills of the Fredericton fire department says a passerby notified them of the blaze at about 7:30 last night.

He says the person called 9-1-1 to say they saw flames coming from the roof of a home on the corner of York and Charlotte streets.

Mills says when firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of the roof around the electrical mast.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly, while everyone inside the building got out safely.
