March 28, 2014, Brampton, Ont. – A man has died after being pulled from a house fire early Friday in Brampton, northwest of Toronto.
The man was pronounced dead in hospital after being pulled from the home around 6:30 a.m. (near Queen Street and Bramalea Road.)
The man's two sons were rescued by a neighbour, who was treated in hospital for smoke inhalation along with the two boys.
Brampton Fire Chief Andy MacDonald says the neighbour called 911 and then ran to rescue the family, breaking down the back door to help the boys get out.
Firefighters pulled the father from the home without vital signs and performed CPR after he was overcome by smoke.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but officials say it may have started on the main floor of the bungalow.
