Mom tosses kids out window during blaze
March 7, 2008, Montreal - A Montreal mother is being hailed for her bravery after throwing her seven children out of a window as fire raged around her.

The mother and children, aged between two and 10, are all in hospital suffering from various burns and bruises.
One of the children, a three-year-old girl, is in critical condition with third-degree burns to her face.
The mother, who jumped out the window once her children were out, also has face burns but is in stable condition.
Some of the children landed in snowbanks, while at least one was caught by a neighbour.
Ernest Jean, another neighbour, went into the building after the mother said she thought one of the children remained inside. Jean made a quick search but everyone was out of the apartment.
"She was very emotional," Jean said. "All is well, and everyone is safely at the hospital, so I'm happy."
Fire officials say the blaze may have started in the basement. Some reports indicate it may have started on a sofa.
