Pitt Meadows welcomes new deputy fire chief

Nov. 17, 2023, Pitt Meadows, B.C. – Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service has appointed Chris Miley as its new deputy fire chief of training and operations.

He comes from Langley City Fire Rescue Service, where he has served for more than 20 years in various capacities, including the role of assistant fire chief.

“I am pleased to welcome Deputy Chief Miley to the Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service team,” Fire Chief Stephan Drolet said in a city press release. “He brings extensive experience to the department and will play a crucial role in the department’s ongoing transition to a fully staffed 24/7 service delivery model and ensuring that our firefighters are prepared for any scenario they may face.”

As deputy fire chief for Pitt Meadows, Miley will be responsible for overseeing the training of the department’s 17 career firefighters and 30 paid-on-call firefighters.

He is expected to start his new role in mid-December.
