July 25, 2012, Oromocto, N.B. – The RCMP in New Brunswick say they believe two fires in Oromocto, N.B., last Friday were deliberately set and they are making an appeal for the public's help in finding those responsible.
Police say firefighters responded to the first blaze on Mockler Street at 2 a.m.
They were alerted to the fire by a neighbour, who noticed that a shed and utility trailer on the neighbouring property were ablaze.
When firefighters arrived, they found that the deck on the house of the neighbour who had called 911 was also on fire.
Police say all three structures sustained significant damage.
The Mounties say the fires posed a particular danger because someone was at home in one of the residences at the time.
