The rig was carrying a load of about 230 pigs when it rolled on the southbound 427 express ramp to the eastbound Gardiner Expressway
at around 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters used their ladders to create a makeshift pig-pen on the ramp to try to contain the wandering animals.
Dozens of pigs are standing around on the roadway as emergency crews try to coax them toward a truck.
Several animals died or were injured in the crash. The truck driver wasn't hurt, but he is facing charges.
Traffic is delayed through the area and the ramp is expected to remain closed until at least noon today.
