Fire destroys two-storey family home

Sept. 23, 2015, Truro, N.S. - A family of three was forced out of their home after a fire extensively damaged the two-storey house in Maitland, Nova Scotia.

The Canadian Red Cross says it helped a woman, her 15-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son with emergency lodging, food and clothing.

The fire at the home on Demone Road was reported at around two yesterday afternoon.

No one was home at the time.

The fire marshal and RCMP are investigating the blaze.
