Newmarket fire crews never got call to fatal blaze
April 3, 2013, East Gwillimbury, Ont. - When the Dunsmuir
family called 911 from inside their burning home, three fire halls were
within a six-kilometre radius. Only one had full-time staff capable of
an immediate response. That hall in Newmarket never got the call, said Chief Ian Laing of Central York Fire Services. The Toronto Star reports.
